Kasita Review

Kasita is a prefab modular home builder from Austin, Texas, that provides a modern tiny home / ADU solution. After living for a year in a converted dumpster bin, the founder was inspired to create a tiny living space that utilized modern technology to be as energy efficient as possible. Kasita makes a single tiny, 352 square foot model that comes complete with smart appliances and an assortment of different amenities to choose from.

The Kasita breaks away from traditional tiny home style, using a sleek modern aluminum exterior with an living room made of glass windows. The homes come with everything a modern studio apartment might have and include a fold out bed, in the living area. Potential uses for Kasitas include as an accessory dwelling unit (ADU), tiny-home, guest studio, among other uses.

Strengths:

  • Unique Exterior - While many tiny homes feature a traditional cabin style, Kasita opts for a contemporary design.

  • High Tech - Units come outfitted with energy saving technology, such as smart thermostats, ceiling fans, and speakers.

Reasons they may not be for you:

  • You are looking for a home that is larger than 352 square feet
