Escape Traveler Review

Escape Traveler is a builder of tiny homes on wheels based in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. They offer 9 pre-designed models ranging from 175 square feet to 388 square feet, with full customization options available. Design influences vary including elements of modern Japanese architecture and more rustic cabin looks, though all pre-designed models feature sleek wooden exteriors, LED lighting, and metal roofs. Glass doors and clerestory windows flood the interiors with light. Pine walls and hardwood floors lend the interior a more natural feel.

For heating, buyers can choose from an LP furnace, baseboard heat, electric heat pump and/or a fireplace. High efficiency split AC systems are also available. The Kitchen comes standard with maple cabinetry, butcher block countertops, an under counter refrigerator, and custom shelving. Off-grid options are also available, including options for solar paneling and composting or Laveo toilets.

Buyers may choose a pre-designed model or opt for a completely custom design. For custom builds, buyers work directly with Escape Traveler’s architectural team to create plans. Once the buyer settles on a final design, the home goes into construction in Escape Traveler’s factory in Rice Lake, WI. Homes are completely finished by escape traveler and buyers can even add furniture like couches and beds to make the home fully move-in ready. All the buyer has to do is prepare the site and hook up utilities. Every RV model comes standard with a 2 year warranty, but 3rd party upgrades like green appliances have even longer warranties. Upon completion, buyers can tow the RV to their land or pay for delivery from Escape Traveler. The entire process can be completed within 70-100 days though some in-stock models can be ready even earlier.
