Liberation Tiny Homes Review

Liberation Tiny Homes is a designer and manufacturer of prefab tiny homes based in Leola, Pennsylvania. They are currently accepting orders for 6 styles of tiny homes with full design and sizing customization available. Their homes typically feature a modern cabin design, with wide windows, glass doors, slanted metal roofs, plus a mix of LP smartside, stained pine, and metal accent siding. Inside, their tiny homes often have vinyl floors, LG mini-split heaters, interior wood accents, custom cabinets, quartz or butcher block countertops, and loft space. While their tiny homes are designed to be hooked up to utilities, Liberation is willing to work with buyers to provide off-grid capabilities like composting toilets, propane appliances, fresh water tanks, generators and solar paneling. It is worth noting these upgrades can greatly increase the price ($10,000 - $15,000+). For buyers interested in even greater interior design customization or looking for a DIY project, homes can be purchased as just the structural shell at a lower cost.

Liberation only builds tiny homes on trailers, with no permanent foundations available. The entire process, from starting the paperwork to moving in, takes about 6-7 months. Once the buyer has settled on a home model, an in-house designer creates a 3D rendering, allowing the buyer to take a virtual tour and make revisions. When the design is finalized and the trailer arrives, construction begins in their Laola shop, where the home is framed, sheathed, and wrapped with a vapor barrier as the exterior and interior are assembled. The tiny home is then shipped to the buyer anywhere in the continental United States or Canada, only requiring minimal utility hookups before the home is ready to move into. In addition to 2 systems checks, all tiny homes come with a 1-year warranty. As finding a place to park a tiny home can be tricky, Liberation Tiny Homes partners with Pacific West Associated to help buyers get their new tiny home certified as an RV. This makes it much easier to park the tiny home at campgrounds or RV parks.

Strengths:

  • Offer a variety of styles including craftsman, farmhouse, and modern

  • Provide turn-key ready tiny homes with a transparent build process

  • You are looking for an RV certified tiny home

Reasons they might not be for you:

  • You are looking for a bigger house (their largest model is about 400 square feet)

  • You are located far away from their PA headquarters and shipping is cost-prohibitive
