Home Outside is an online landscape design service that specializes in creating custom garden and landscape layouts. In addition to their custom landscape design services, they also offer a CAD-like mobile app. With the app, users can create their own virtual landscape plans on an overlay of their existing space. Home Outside also offers several pre-designed plant kits. Their plant kits are sold and distributed by the online greenhouse Fast Growing Trees and include both warm & cool climate kits for shade gardens and privacy hedges.
When working with Home Outside to create a custom garden or landscape plan, individuals start by purchasing and booking either a 30 or 60-minute consultation with a member of their design team. During that time, individuals can share preferences and site photos with their designer as well as discuss ideas for a potential custom landscape or garden design. After the consultation, Home Outside will follow up with a custom cost estimate for custom design services. While each project is unique, they note that services typically range from $500 - $1,000+ for custom garden designs & $800 - $5,000 for custom landscape designs. For that price, individuals receive custom master plans with design notes, 3D views of their space and envisioned plan, plan suggestions, and detailed drawings.
