Tilly is a web-based landscape design service. Like other online landscaping services, Tilly works with customers to create custom landscape plans for both front and back yards at private residences. In addition to working with Tilly to develop a custom plan for a front, back, or entire yard, individuals can also contract them to develop a plan for a number of smaller, DIY landscaping projects. This includes garden beds, walkways, patios, and fire pit areas.
To begin working with Tilly on a custom design, individuals begin by purchasing one of their design packages based on the area (front, back, entire yard) and size (up to ½ acre, up to 1 acre, up to 2 acres) of the yard that they would like to focus on. From there, individuals are invited to develop a design profile with photos and dimensions of their space as well as photos for inspiration. Buyers will also complete a phone/video consultation with a designer to discuss ideas and share more information about the space. 2-3 weeks later individuals will receive their initial landscape design plan which they can make one round of revisions as part of the package.
Along with the custom design plans, individuals receive a list of plants and materials, color plans, inspiration images, and installation instructions. Depending on the package, individuals can also opt to include extras such as a side yard plan, 3D renderings of the design, and lighting plans. In the case of some DIY projects, buyers can also incorporate planting designs for an extra fee. And depending on one’s satisfaction with the plan, they can also opt to purchase the plants and materials with Tilly’s assistance or receive additional design options. And for individuals looking to implement their custom landscape plans, Tilly is also able to recommend local contractors, providing individuals with a list of 3 certified contractors in their area.
