Deltec Homes Review

Deltec Homes is one of the oldest and most established prefab shell builders.  By prefab shell builder, we mean that they provide the structural shell for the home, but this does not include “the foundation, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, interior insulation, interior finishes, or roof shingles.” In order to complete your home, your builder will assemble the home and finish the inside and outside when it is received on site.

Deltecs has been around since 1968, ships nationwide, and makes two very interesting styles of houses. One is the classic Deltec round version which is hurricane resistant and very distinct looking. These can also be customized both in terms of floor plan and and footprint. The other is a more classical collection of homes known as the renew collection, that features environmentally friendly net zero homes.

Deltec also provides a project manager to help buyers customize their floor plans, a green building department, and a 24/7 construction resource should your local builder have questions.

Strengths

  • Attractive designs

  • Durable - hurricane proof

  • Well priced - Deltec homes are relatively affordable compared to other prefab homes. We estimate that most Deltec homes completely finished will cost $175 - $300 per sqft

  • Environmentally friendly

Reasons they might not be for you:

  • You don’t want to hire a separate local builder to build and finish much of your home
