EcoCraft Review

EcoCraft is a designer and builder of prefab homes based in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. They specialize in crafting energy-efficient modular homes with sleek, modern designs. Although EcoCraft serves the Pittsburgh area, they occasionally take on projects outside of that range on a case-by-case basis. Currently, they offer 23 pre-designed floor plans, ranging from 583 square feet to 2,934 square feet. Full customization is available via EcoCraft’s in-house design team.

Home styles range from sleek modern designs to ornate Victorian homes. Most home exteriors typically include wide windows, rooftop decks, and LP smartside siding with metal or wood finish. Interiors usually feature open floor plans with lots of natural light and high ceilings.

As a green company, EcoCraft specializes in building efficient homes that achieve net zero energy efficiency. Home envelopes are built via thick-wall construction with a minimum of 1” continuous exterior insulation. Their green designs eliminate thermal bridges and reduce heating/cooling loads, allowing for small, efficient HVAC systems. All homes come with a heat recovery ventilator for improved air flow and freshness. Homes also feature efficient LED lights, PEX tubing for water, and 98% efficient tankless gas water heaters. These energy efficiency features come standard in every home.

EcoCraft offers end-to-end services, meaning they handle all design, manufacturing, permitting, delivery, installation, and on-site work. First, buyers select a pre-designed floor plan or work with EcoCraft’s architectural team to design a plan from scratch. Homes then go into construction in EcoCraft’s climate-controlled factory, 90 miles outside of Pittsburgh. Factory construction only takes about 6 weeks. While the modules are being built, EcoCraft’s team builds the foundation, septic system, and other site work. Homes are shipped 85% complete, leaving very little on-site work to be done. The entire process, from signing to move-in, can be completed in as little as 3-4 months. Homes come with a 10-year structural warranty and 1-year cosmetic warranty, plus manufacturers’ warranties for products installed in the home.
