mnmMOD Review
mnmMOD is a structural insulated panel (SIP) manufacturer based in Los Angeles, California. Their prefabricated panels offer structural support and insulation and are meant to replace traditional, wood home framing. Because mnmMOD’S SIPs are made from non-wood, 30% recycled materials, they come with benefits such as mold, termite, and fire resistance. On top of that, the structure and insulation of the SIPs allow them to be constructed and assembled more efficiently than traditional framing methods resulting in homes that are 40% more energy efficient than their site-built counterparts.
While mnmMOD does not manufacture the homes themselves, they work with builders and architects to either manufacture panels to fit existing home plans, or they can collaborate with architects on projects to integrate their SIPs into home designs from the outset of the project. Upon receiving the signed, initial contract, mnmMOD says the typical timeframe for completed panels is about 10 weeks. From there, the SIPs are flat-packed and shipped to the final build site. As of right now, mnmMOD only serves California though they are set to expand to nationwide service soon.
