Fleetwood Homes Review

Fleetwood Homes is a manufactured home builder and one of the largest homebuilders in the United States. Additionally, they are an affiliate of Cavco Homes. Fleetwood Homes operate a network of production facilities with centers in Riverside, California; Douglas, Georgia; Nampa, Idaho; Woodburn, Oregon; Lafayette, Tennessee; Waco, Texas; and Rocky Mount, Virginia. They mainly concentrate their operations on entry-level manufactured homes.

Architecturally speaking, homes from Fleetwood Homes typically feature traditional ranch-style architecture. Though, with over 200 manufactured home plans currently for sale, buyers have a range of options to choose from. These include 1 bed, 357 square foot homes up to 5 bed, 2,563 square foot homes. It is worth mentioning though, that because Fleetwood Homes primarily sells their homes via a network of sales centers, not all floor plans may be available in your area. Their distributor network is made up of over 200 sales centers and is distributed throughout a large part of the U.S.

When buying a home from Fleetwood Homes, there are a few things individuals should consider. First, from a design standpoint, their homes come standard with move-in ready interiors complete with cabinetry, appliances, and flooring. And logistically, their houses can easily be delivered and finished at the final build site. Once individuals buy their home from a Fleetwood Homes sales center, the local retailer is responsible for coordinating preparation for and installation of the home. Exact timing on receiving your home depends on Fleetwood Homes’s manufacturing schedule at the moment and the availability of local contractors in your area to prepare the building site and install the home.

Strengths:

  • They have many manufacturing facilities which can decrease shipping distances and therefore, additional costs to customers

  • Offer a range of floor plans with various sizes and styles

Reasons they might not be for you:

  • You are looking for greater customization options
