Dvele Review

Dvele is a designer and producer of high-end prefabricated homes. Their modular homes are marketed to both individual home buyers as well as larger, multi-unit developers. They currently offer 20 different floor plans which range from 705 square foot tiny homes and ADUs to large, two-story homes with nearly 4,000 square feet of living space. Aesthetically, Dvele’s homes feature sleek, modern architecture and interiors that can be personalized according to the buyer’s taste.

When working with Dvele, individuals start by selecting one of their pre-designed floor plans which include: tiny homes, ADUs, modern ranches, and contemporary two-story houses. While buyers are not able to create a custom floor plan, they can choose between two different product lines - “Essential” and “Advanced'' which offer different levels of fit and finishes. To see Dvele’s most current floor plans, design elements, and upgrade options, buyers can start by creating a home plan using Dvele’s design tool.

From a process standpoint, individuals begin by discussing their project with a member of the Dvele team and selecting one of their 20 pre-designed floor plans. After customers select a design package and choose interior finishes, Dvele can begin manufacturing the home modules in their Southern California production facility. At the same time, a local general contractor can start preparing the build site (clearing the lot and preparing utility connections). Depending on the project, Dvele can even print a light-gauge steel foundation that can be shipped to and installed on-site. This reduces the amount of on-site work required to prepare for the home, project cost, and carbon emissions associated with the home’s development.

Once the building site is ready and the manufacturing process has been completed, Dvele will coordinate the shipping, craning, setting, and stitching of the modules at the site. Additionally, Dvele is capable of delivering homes to the final build site up to 95% complete; modules are delivered with nearly fully-finished interiors, including appliances and solar panels. And while Dvele does not offer general contracting services, they are able to connect buyers with a qualified GC from their network (primarily for West Coast projects). And in the event that they don’t have a contractor in their network in your project location, they can provide assistance finding qualified candidates.

Strengths:

  • Offer a wide range of floor plan sizes (Tiny Homes, ADUs, Single Family Homes)

  • Homes feature contemporary designs and a number of high-tech modern amenities

  • While they are not a turn-key builder they are able to complete a significant amount of the project off-site and provide assistance connecting with a contractor for the work that they are unable to complete

Reasons they might not be for you:

  • You would like to build a custom home

  • They are outside of your price range
